About Green Golf Tour

Green Golf was founded in 2018 and has been based at Regent Park Golf Centre in Bolton ever since.

Originally just Jacob managing and planning the events, Jacob was originally a Chef for 5 years prior to changing careers and deciding to make a career out of his hobby.

After a few years of Green Golf and the growth of the tour, Jacobs wife Megan traded a career in Utilities for the Golf Industry, Megan very quickly got the admin and organisation of the business in order!

We’re both very big dog lovers and our rescued dog Loki has always been a big presence on our social media and in and around the shop.

Outside of work and Golf, Jacob plays & coaches a football team Euxton Villa Reserves, and Megan is a keen swimmer with Bolton Tri Club.

Why We Do It

When I was a scratch golfer I played a lot of Open Events which were specifically designed for good golfers and the format was singles golf.

At the time of our founding in 2018 there was a very poor offering for normal and average golfers to play singles golf, it was all teams and scrambles. I felt this was a shame and wanted to offer a singles tour for normal golfers to be able to enjoy a proper competitive round at great courses without having to pay full green fees.

What We Do

We organise and plan events all over the country that are cheaper than a green fee.

We offer huge prize pots with the tour paying out over £40,000 in prizes each year. Our events are handicap qualifying and we have an order of merit which players can play for each year.

Where & When We Do It

Most of our events are in the North West but we do span across most of the North of England and a bit of Yorkshire, Wales and the Midlands.
